About the Position:

We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team in North Queensland. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will work independently and exercise independent judgment on routine matters. You may require professional supervision from more senior members of the profession or health team when performing novel, complex, or critical tasks.

The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary degree or higher qualification from a recognised University in Occupational Therapy. They will also have high-level interpersonal skills, including effective communication (written and verbal), negotiation, leadership, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide and contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality and cost-effective services to all people seeking and receiving a service.
  • Complete comprehensive specialised assessments and develop, evaluate, and review individualised plans and reports following company policy and procedures and within specified timeframes.
  • Contribute to the provision and development of expert contemporary practice advice to people accessing services, such as families and carers as well as professionals, clinical placement students, work experience students, support organisations, and educators.
  • Initiate and participate in personal reflection, professional training and development, and continuous improvement activities to maintain high-quality service.
  • Maintain client service records in accordance with company policy and procedures, and legislative requirements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary degree or higher qualification from a recognised University in Occupational Therapy.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including effective communication (written and verbal), negotiation, leadership, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills.
  • Current AHPRA Registration.
  • Current Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening).

The successful candidate will be offered a highly competitive base salary, negotiable based on their skills and experience, with annual reviews. They will also have access to fully covered Professional Indemnity Insurance for all therapists and regular supervision and support in line with AHPRA requirements.
