The RolesWe are seeking flexible and caring candidates to contribute to our Boarding House community in unique ways. Working under the direction of the Head of Boarding, you will be a key contributor in ensuring the safe welfare, pastoral care, and academic progress of all boarders in the Morcom Boarding House.
You will be responsible for preserving routine within a facility that houses approximately 45 secondary male and female students (aged 14-18 years) at our Caulfield Campus. To be successful, you will develop knowledge of each individual and family/education circumstance within the House and monitor, plan, and action steps to maintain the physical and emotional wellbeing of boarding students and staff.

Job DescriptionBoarding House Coordinator (Boys), Full TimeThis is a fixed-term full-time position, commencing on reduced hours in Term 4 for a complete handover in 2025. The full-time role will commence in mid-January 2025. The role includes up to 37.5 hours of work over 40 weeks a year, sleepovers (up to 2) per week, and responsibilities such as administration of supervision rosters, personnel management, providing guidance and security to other boarding house supervisors, rostering of student routines, and ensuring the welfare and happiness of students and peers within the boarding community.
Boarding House Supervisor (Boys & Girls) - CasualThe role provides up to 10 hours per week, with 1 or 2 sleepovers. Duties involve working with the Head of Boarding to ensure the welfare and happiness of students within the boarding community, after-hours supervision, ensuring boarder safety, and monitoring student attendance and conduct during mealtimes, meetings, and specified events.
Boarding House Supervisor (Boys & Girls) – Residential, Part-timeThis is a fixed-term part-time opportunity, commencing in Term 4 2024 or Term 1 2025. There are up to 20+ hours per week plus 2 sleepovers (10pm – 8:30am) over 39 weeks (term time). Responsibilities are similar to the casual boarding house supervisor, including working with Boarding leadership, after-hours supervision, ensuring boarder safety, and monitoring student attendance and conduct.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Experience working with teenagers
- Ability to quickly build rapport with others (boarders, parents, and staff)
- Strong work ethic to commit to a range of shifts across 7 days per week during school term time
- Experience in social work/pastoral care role/residential environment (desired, but not essential)
- Post-secondary education qualification (desired)
- Ability to ensure rules and procedures are consistently maintained
- Level 2 First Aid Certification, Anaphylaxis Certification, and CPR
- Current Employment Working with Children Check or VIT Registration
$70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
