Quantum Engineer - Sensor Innovation

We are seeking a skilled Quantum Engineer to join our laboratory in Sydney, Australia. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing novel quantum sensor prototypes for magnetic and inertial navigation.

This role involves leading the development of new sensor architectures, from initial design through field trials, product certification and eventual commercialization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering complex hardware projects on time, ensuring technical quality, performance and reliability of the hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop novel quantum sensors for navigation applications
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex hardware projects
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate sensor technologies with navigation systems
  • Develop and implement testing strategies to ensure product quality and reliability
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
  • Proven track record in developing novel quantum sensors and navigation systems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
