About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer - Rollingstock to join our dynamic PTA Project Delivery Division at the Public Transport Authority (PTA). This is a key role that will provide vital technical support to the designated project team, ensuring that rolling stock engineering solutions are designed, built, and maintained safely, cost-effectively, and in line with quality objectives.

The successful candidate will assist with the planning and design of rolling stock systems, perform inspections, and prepare detailed reports on project progress. They will also conduct research and prepare project-specific reports, contributing to the smooth execution and management of the projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and design of rolling stock systems
  • Perform inspections and prepare detailed reports on project progress
  • Conduct research and prepare project-specific reports
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical specifications and ensure asset management data is updated as necessary
  • Support contract development, tender evaluations, and contract administration

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in Engineering meeting the requirements for professional membership of Engineers Australia
  • Proven experience in the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure development projects
  • Experience in the design, construction, and maintenance of engineering systems within an operational railway environment
  • Demonstrated experience in contract development and management
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
