Physiotherapy Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity exists for a new graduate physiotherapist to join our dynamic team at Calvary Mater Newcastle.

As a physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.

The position covers inpatient and outpatient client care with an emphasis on general medicine and cancer care.

This role is perfect for a new graduate looking to gain exposure and experience in a hospital clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, organise, evaluate and deliver quality patient-centred physiotherapy care in accordance with AHPRA and the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Conduct thorough systematic assessments addressing clients' issues and concerns, including referrals to other services where required.
  • Use assessment findings and evidence-based knowledge to formulate individualised treatment plans across all core areas of physiotherapy.
  • Provide information and consult with clients about treatment plans.
  • Deliver effective treatment and provide clients with self-management skills.
  • Reassess clients and progress treatment when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Recognised degree in physiotherapy and authorised to practice as a physiotherapist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated competence and good clinical judgement in providing individualised treatment for a broad range of clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of both the multidisciplinary team and the physiotherapy team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling efficient delivery of support to a diverse population.
  • Commitment to personal responsibilities, professional development and evidence-based practice.
