Job Summary:
The role of Maritime Educator involves teaching, facilitating learning and assessing students in a variety of maritime-related subjects.
The educator will also be responsible for providing consultancy services to industry partners and community clients.
- Teach and facilitate learning in maritime-related subjects such as marine engine driver training, maritime engineering and other related courses.
- Conduct assessments and provide feedback to students on their performance.
- Develop and maintain course materials, resources and assessments to ensure high-quality education.
- Provide consultancy services to industry partners and community clients to promote the delivery of vocational training and education services.
To be successful in this role you will have a Marine engine driver Grade 1 near coastal (MED1) or Higher Maritime Engineering Qualification (or equivalent).
You will also have at least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position with an ability to facilitate and encourage learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and learning support for students enrolled in maritime-related programs.
- Development and delivery of courses and training packages.
- Assessment and moderation of student work.
- Consultation and liaison with industry partners and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Marine engine driver Grade 1 near coastal (MED1) or Higher Maritime Engineering Qualification (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position.
- Ability to facilitate and encourage learning.
Desirable Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher recognised teaching qualification).
