Job Role:

The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role within the senior leadership team, overseeing specialist personnel to execute contracts for clients on major projects.

This position involves leading project staff across multiple work fronts, collaborating closely with project managers to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical issues, addressing project challenges, and evaluating safety standards.

Duties will include managing project teams in the metropolitan region, typically working weekdays from 7am to 5:30pm, with occasional Saturday half-days pending progress and deadlines.

The ideal candidate can expect an attractive remuneration package, including a salary range of circa $180,000 base + super, vehicle, phone, and laptop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project staff across multiple work fronts
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and address project challenges
  • Evaluate safety standards and order supplies and materials
  • Monitor vendor pricing and liaise with key client stakeholders and subcontractors

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • At least 10+ years' experience as Project/Operations Manager delivering projects in Australia, including micro-tunnelling, pipe-jacking, pipelines, sewer lines, drainage, or other similar civil projects
  • Strong cost management and contractual understanding
  • Able to prioritize and organize requirements across multiple sites, staff, materials, and equipment
  • Proven leadership capabilities to lead minimum 50+ staff
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors
  • Current C Class WA Driver's Licence
  • Available within 4 weeks' notice period maximum
