Job Description

Wodonga Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educational Leader to join our team. As a key member of our Early Childhood Education department, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, implementing, and evaluating a high-quality kindergarten program within our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Plan and implement a comprehensive kindergarten program that meets the needs of individual children and groups.
    • Develop and maintain a safe, educational, and caring environment that promotes children's learning and development.
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and direct teachers and educators in their work with children and in the preparation and maintenance of kindergarten surroundings and equipment.
    • Conduct professional development and enhancement programs for kindergarten teachers and educators.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Encourage and involve parents in all aspects of their child's kindergarten experience.
    • Keep parents informed of the kindergarten program through regular documentation and displays.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with the Educational and Care Services National Regulations 2011 and the National Quality Framework standards.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Sound knowledge of the needs and issues affecting young children and families.
    • Excellent understanding of policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to the provision of early childhood education services.
    • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to adapt to new concepts and ideas in early childhood education.
