Job Title: Plate Fabricator

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating metal plates in a production environment. Key responsibilities include selecting and preparing metal stock, operating cranes and machinery, programming and operating milling machines, and performing various tasks to finish the plates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Selecting and preparing metal stock according to specific job requirements
  • Operating cranes and machinery to safely lift and move large metal plates
  • Programming and operating milling machines for precise manufacturing of Acroplate
  • Preparing custom alloy mixtures and loading them into the mixing and dosing system
  • Cleaning and finishing plates using various techniques such as sandblasting or belt sanding
  • Performing welding operations to assemble parts for further processing
  • Heating and shaping metal in the mill to specific temperatures
  • Adjusting controls on machinery to regulate electric current and achieve desired finishes
  • Carrying out additional plate processing tasks such as brushing, cutting, and stripping
  • Stacking and organizing finished plates efficiently
  • Maintaining accurate records of production activities
  • Operating forklifts to transport materials and tools throughout the warehouse

Requirements:

  • Relevant Certificate II/III or equivalent qualification
  • Work experience can substitute for the qualification
  • Possession of a White Card and Driver Licence (desirable)
