Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team in the Murrumbidgee Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Team (MER) at Charles Sturt University. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting innovative research to support the objectives of the Murrumbidgee MER Program, focusing on evaluating the role of environmental water in supporting nationally important ecosystems and understanding hydrology-ecosystem relationships to inform biodiversity conservation management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-quality research and produce significant research outputs
  • Engage with a wide network of stakeholders, including universities, government agencies, industry partners, and regional communities
  • Develop and lead research projects, including supervising Higher Research Degree students
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to undertake research and innovation
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge in ecological statistical modeling, ecoacoustics, or freshwater ecology
  • Proven ability to conduct high-quality research and produce significant research outputs
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to disseminate research findings effectively
