Key Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction crews, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to specification.
  • Quality Control: Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project plans.
  • Leadership: Provide on-site leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with site managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address issues and resolve conflicts.
  • Resource Allocation: Oversee the allocation of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and prepare reports on progress, safety, and any issues encountered.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a leading hand or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of civil construction techniques, safety practices, and project management.
  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret plans, experience using laser levels for alignment, levelling and surveying, strong leadership and team management skills, excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, effective communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Certifications: A range of civil plant operating tickets (preferred).
