About the Opportunity

The Shire of Capel is seeking a full-time Engineering Coordinator based in Western Australia.

In this role, you will lead the Engineering Services team, ensuring the successful delivery of high-level engineering outcomes, while reporting directly to the Manager of Engineering & Works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical advice and managing the development and implementation of strategies for municipal infrastructure and capital works projects
  • Overseeing infrastructure maintenance programs, including funding, quality control, and compliance with relevant standards
  • Managing contract procurement, contractor performance, and compliance for infrastructure projects
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure successful project management, strategic direction, and strong relationships
  • Supporting the Manager of Engineering & Works in decision-making and engineering matters
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives and the development of policies, procedures, and technical documents for Engineering Services
About You

To qualify, you will need significant experience in local government, particularly in civil engineering or a related discipline, with a focus on infrastructure projects and capital works.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience
  • Experience in civil construction
  • Strong knowledge of local government regulations and Australian standards
  • Competency in using engineering software (e.g., Auto CAD, Civil CAD)
  • Advanced Worksite Traffic Management accreditation
  • Proficiency in engineering project management
  • Experience in contract management, procurement, and dealing with contractors
  • Knowledge of asset management and infrastructure planning
About the Benefits

Compensation based on skills and experience is a competitive annual salary of $95,000 - $100,000, along with a host of excellent benefits, including:
