Animal Welfare League Qld is a leading animal welfare charity in Queensland. We provide a safe haven for close to 10,000 stray and homeless animals each year, while also assisting other communities in saving homeless animals.

In addition to our shelter work, we are committed to keeping pets and people together by providing lifesaving support and resources to people in need with companion animals.

We are known for our grassroots and innovative community-based animal welfare work including our community vet clinics, Getting to Zero, Golden Hearts Seniors' Support Program and the National Desexing Network.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing Training Plans, Development Plans, and Performance Review material
  • Providing Employment Relations support and investigation
  • Managing training records, activities and reporting
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of leadership programs
  • Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure relevance and adherence to legal requirements
  • Projects, as a valued member of the HR team we will be working on various projects together

The HR Advisor will also provide support to the HR team by way of backup for generalist duties including employee lifecycle, engagement, performance, well-being, advice and injury management.

  • Tertiary level qualification in Human Resources or equivalent discipline
  • 1+ years previous experience with training facilitation
  • 1-2 years' experience working in human resources or people & culture
  • 2+ years previous experience in an operational role in any industry
  • Course, program, and policy writing experience
  • Demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service
  • Commitment to meticulous attention to detail and accuracy with administrative work
  • High level of communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse client groups
  • High level of computer literacy, confident computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Current Police Check, or willing to obtain
  • Experience creating basic e-learning courses or Articulate experience
  • Experience with HRS software: Scout Recruit, BuRPS
  • Learning Management System administrator experience
  • Experience with injury management
