Job Title: Parks Operations Manager
We are seeking an experienced leader to provide quality service delivery systems, processes and services in the establishment and maintenance of parks, gardens, reserves and sportsgrounds.

Job Description

The Parks Operations Manager will lead a team within the open space management team to deliver high-level presentation for the city's parks, gardens, reserves, open spaces, sportsgrounds, zoo and cemeteries. They will oversee the overall operational management of the council's open space service areas, develop and implement maintenance and inspection schedules, project manage specialised maintenance and/or preparation of facilities, and assist with the development and implementation of annual work programs and operational plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to deliver high-quality presentation and maintenance across the city's open spaces.
  • Oversee the operational management of the council's open space service areas.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and inspection schedules.
  • Project manage specialised maintenance and/or preparation of facilities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of annual work programs and operational plans.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of a Certificate III in Horticulture, Greenkeeping or Agriculture.
  • A Class MR Driver's Licence.
  • A General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
  • A SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP) certification.
  • An AQF III Chemical Application Certificate.
  • An AQF Level 4 Chemical Risk Management Certificate.
  • A Chainsaw Certificate Crosscut / Felling.
  • Substantial leadership experience with the ability to lead, engage, mentor and develop a team and manage personnel effectively.
  • Strong time management, planning, financial and administrative skills.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
