About the Role:

WeBuild is seeking a highly skilled Tunnel Boring Machine Operator to join our team on the Snowy 2.0 project in the Snowy Monaro region. As a key member of our underground construction team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our tunnel boring machines, ensuring the safe and efficient excavation of tunnels for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain tunnel boring machines, including controlling cutterheads and ensuring proper alignment and driving during operations
  • Erect tunnel lining segments and prepare segment inspection and installation reports
  • Perform daily maintenance and routine servicing of equipment
  • Ensure timely progress of work according to schedule and plans
  • Familiarize yourself with approved emergency procedures, contingency plans, communication procedures, and rescue plans
  • Complete shift and daily records
  • Identify and report any safety hazards to the appropriate personnel

Requirements:

  • Current drivers license
  • High risk work license – Forklift, EWP, DG
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space
  • General Construction Induction training (white card)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Pass a medical and criminal history check

Working Conditions:

This role will be based in remote challenging areas with extreme cold temperatures. You must be able to adapt to these conditions and consider them before applying for this role.
