Job Title: Executive Director of Indigenous Cultural Governance

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to assume the role of Executive Director of Indigenous Cultural Governance. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership to our organisation, overseeing the preservation and protection of Indigenous cultural heritage.

Reporting to the Board, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation of cultural governance policies and procedures.
  • Developing and managing budgets related to cultural heritage programs.
  • Representing the organisation in negotiations with government agencies, regulators, and community stakeholders.
  • Providing strategic advice on Indigenous cultural matters to the Board and management team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Indigenous cultural governance, with experience in policy development, budget management, and stakeholder engagement. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders.

The Executive Director will work closely with senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that promote Indigenous cultural integrity and safeguard the rights and interests of our people.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • A proven track record of leadership in Indigenous cultural governance.
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultural heritage laws and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Key Requirements
