Onshore Pipeline Engineer

About the Role:

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading project delivery team supporting major energy and resources developments across Australia and Papua New Guinea.

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Onshore Pipeline Engineer to lead and review the design of onshore pipeline systems using industry-recognised engineering practices.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in carbon steel and HDPE pipeline systems, a deep understanding of Australian regulatory standards, and a collaborative approach to project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and review onshore pipeline systems to ensure compliance with Australian standards (including AS2885) and client specifications.

  • Prepare cost and schedule estimates for project proposals.
  • Identify and manage engineering risks; support the development of mitigation and change management strategies.
  • Oversee pipeline routing, material selection, wall thickness calculations, and interface with geotechnical and environmental teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the pipeline discipline.
  • Participate in design reviews and support construction and commissioning phases as required.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline Engineering or a related discipline is required.

The ideal candidate should have current registration as RPEQ (QLD), RPEV (VIC), or IEPNG (PNG) and proven experience in onshore pipeline design and construction, particularly with carbon steel pipelines to AS2885 standards.
