Job Title: Cybersecurity Outreach and Capability Officer

The successful candidate will play a key part in helping the Department meet its obligations under the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), and the Essential Eight.

  • Deliver cyber-related initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, onboarding resources, and internal communications.
  • Create and update SOPs, guidance notes, and knowledge articles for both cyber teams and end users.
  • Coordinate cyber awareness programs, staff briefings, and targeted training sessions.
  • Engage with business units to identify communication needs and support tool/process adoption.
  • Translate technical content into clear, accessible, and actionable materials.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and cross-team coordination to uplift cyber literacy.
  • Maintain documentation, delivery trackers, and internal records to ensure consistency and auditability.
