We are seeking an experienced Underground Mine Geologist to join our team at Ora Banda Mining. As a key member of our Geology team, you will play a critical role in the exploration and development of our underground mine.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct day-to-day mine geology activities, including face mapping, face sampling, and updating plans and sections with geology data.
- Assist with wall and backs mapping of all capital and ore development to ensure regulatory compliance and monitor geotechnical conditions.
- Collect quality structural measurements of each face, wall, and backs mapping, and core logging.
- Work with Engineers and Survey to minimise dilution and maximise recovery of ore in development and stoping.
- Collect and submit geometallurgical samples to enable metallurgical recovery factors and key elements to be included in estimations for geology models.
- Assist in the interpretation of the deposit's structure, lithology, alteration, and mineralisation by quality face and wall mapping and sampling, and core logging.
- Provide geological information to ensure accurate reporting of daily and weekly ore UG trucking movement and surface stockpile balances.
- Assist with the design and supervision of underground drilling programs as required.
- Contribute to the Daily and weekly planning of ore movement.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role.
- Previous use of mining software, including Micromine, Leapfrog, and Geobank.
- Membership of a relevant professional organisation, such as AIG or AusIMM.
- Ability to work as part of a technical team.
- Good communication skills.
- Proactive attitude and aptitude for learning.
- Awareness of the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- ERT experience and willingness to join OBM's ERT is preferred.
- Current WA manual driver's Licence.
- Current First Aid certificate.
