About Our Forecasting Team

We're looking for a talented Analyst to join our Operational Forecasting team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing forecasting models that predict electricity demand and supply across Australia.

Our team works closely with weather providers and control rooms to translate weather risks into system impacts. We're committed to ensuring operators have the information they need to make informed decisions.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage operational forecasting models, including developing and updating forecast models to reflect system changes and improve performance.
  • Work collaboratively with weather providers and control rooms to ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align tools, data, and forecasting processes.
  • Contribute energy and weather insights to operational advisories, power system incident reviews, and market reports.
  • Support upgrades of forecasting applications and digital enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
What You'll Bring:
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or a related statistical discipline.
  • Experience in the energy sector or similar industry, preferably in operations, forecasting, or analytical roles.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and statistical modelling techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
