We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Demi Chef to join our talented team of chefs on a full-time basis at RACV Noosa Resort in the Sunshine Coast, QLD.

About the Opportunity

This role involves assisting in the effective operation of the Kitchen by working as a team with other Kitchen staff to provide the appropriate quality and level of service to our members and guests. You will be responsible for serving a consistent high-quality product, performing knife skills, mis en place, cooking techniques & duties, maintaining equipment, utensils and a clean & hygienic kitchen, managing the regular rotation of stock, ensuring there is minimal wastage, continually updating knowledge and skills in the procedures and techniques and gain a broad understanding of all sections of the Kitchen, and following directions from senior chefs and work as a team player.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve a consistent high-quality product;
  • Perform knife skills, mis en place, cooking techniques & duties;
  • Maintain equipment, utensils and a clean & hygienic kitchen;
  • Manage the regular rotation of stock, ensuring there is minimal wastage;
  • Continually update knowledge and skills in the procedures and techniques and gain a broad understanding of all sections of the Kitchen;
  • Follow directions from senior chefs and work as a team player.
What you'll need to be successful
  • Previous Demi Chef experience in a 4-5 star hotel/resort, or similar environment;
  • A Commercial Cookery qualification, recognised in Australia;
  • Demonstrated experience in cookery and well-developed knife skills;
  • Solid knowledge of kitchen sections, service styles, mis en place procedures, food items, cookery techniques, sauces, cold larder, vegetables & butchery;
  • Thrive in a large, busy & fast-paced work environment;
  • The ability to comfortably lift 20kgs and perform repetitive manual tasks safely;
  • Full working rights in Australia.
