About the Role

Cash App is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Engineering Operations team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, accuracy, and reliability of data that drives our engineering excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build robust data pipelines to surface meaningful insights and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Engineering, Product, and Operations, to deliver outcomes.
  • Create clear documentation, such as data dictionaries and model diagrams.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product Managers to understand the impact of new initiatives on operational data and ensure accurate data flow.
  • Identify new data sources and build pipelines to integrate them into our data ecosystem.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of ETL processes to ensure timely, reliable, and scalable data pipelines.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to identify and resolve issues, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into effective engineering solutions.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience solving complex data problems, with a focus on building and optimizing ETL pipelines.
  • Highly proficient in writing SQL to query relational databases and working with data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and orchestration tools like Airflow.
  • Capable of prioritizing and delivering work independently, with a focus on iterative development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
