Job Description

The position of Staff Specialist - Endocrinology involves providing a clinical management and consultation service to patients with endocrine disorders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a minimum of three outpatient clinics at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Diabetes Service, with the clinic services being provided district-wide based on clinical need.

They will also participate in the after-hours endocrinology on-call roster for ISLHD (on a one-in-four to one-in-five basis); and care for inpatients admitted under Endocrinology as well as endocrinology consultation services for patients admitted under other specialties.

The role includes supporting and advising the rest of the multi-disciplinary team at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Diabetes service, which includes Diabetes Educators, Dietitians, and podiatrists.

  • Essential Requirements:
    • Applicable vaccination requirements
    • Category A Working With Children Check
    • AHPRA Registration and Fellowship with Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP)
    • Valid NSW Drivers Licence

Others

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to recruitment for current trials as well as the medical management of patients enrolled in existing trials.

They will also undertake responsibility for the provision of clinical supervision for other members of the multidisciplinary team involved in clinical trials.
