Overview

Akuna Capital's Post Trade Tech team is responsible for designing and developing critical systems that manage risk, compliance, and middle office functions. As a High-Performance Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building scalable, reliable, and high-performing systems to support Akuna's trading desks.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented software engineer with a strong background in Python application development, database management, and experience working across the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, be comfortable with complex queries, and have a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with traders, developers, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements for shared systems
  • Develop across the tech stack, from microservice back-ends to APIs to web UIs, slack bots, and more
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of post trade systems to meet demands of high-frequency trading
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to minimize impact on trading activities
  • Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to the team
Requirements
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent technical field
  • 2-5 years' experience writing Python applications
  • Solid SQL skills, comfortable with complex queries
  • Demonstrated success across the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering and production support
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with web development technologies such as React
  • Understanding of financial markets and trading concepts is a plus, but not required
Salary Estimate

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
