Emotional Support Worker Wanted

About the Role

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Youth Residential Care Worker.

You will be working collaboratively with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality therapeutic care, implementing current best practice interventions and program guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care and child safety.

  • Collaborate within a dedicated team to provide high-quality support for young people.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and program guidelines to ensure the highest standards of care and child safety.
  • Support young people in their educational, social, and recreational pursuits while fostering independence.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing home environment, including managing household duties and providing nutritious meals.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong sense of self and resilience.
  • The ability to understand trauma and its impact on young people's behaviour.
  • Effective communication skills, active listening, and a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask with ease.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a non-judgmental approach to life.
  • A valid driver's license (minimum green P's) for transporting young people.
  • A minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or equivalent qualification.
