About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mining Engineer to lead and mentor a team of Drill and Blast, Projects, and Graduate Engineers. As an Alternate Underground Manager, you will be responsible for developing functional work plans for the Mining Department, reviewing and approving production drilling and charging plans, and initiating, presenting, and implementing specific improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of Drill and Blast, Projects, and Graduate Engineers
- Develop functional work plans for the Mining Department
- Review and approve production drilling and charging plans
- Initiate, present, and implement specific improvement projects
- Manage the stope reconciliation process and maintain internal reporting records
- Coordinate end of month summaries and reports for effective mine management
The ideal candidate should hold a Degree in Mining Engineering and a First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (or the ability to acquire it). They will have over 5 years of experience in underground hard rock mining with a detailed understanding of various mining methods, including long hole open stoping and pastefill.
