Academic Lecturer in Basic Sciences

The University of Tasmania's Rural Clinical School is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Basic Sciences to join its academic team. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in the foundational sciences of medicine and mentoring rural medical students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective teaching in the foundational sciences of medicine
• Mentor and support rural medical students to achieve their academic and professional goals
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links within the University and with relevant local and national discipline and interdisciplinary colleagues
• Seek out and engage in opportunities to continuously improve academic learning and teaching skills
• Undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

• A relevant science degree and teaching experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with staff, students, and external organisations
• High-level organisational skills including experience adhering to safe operating procedures
• Demonstrated initiative coupled with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

Remuneration:

The successful candidate will be appointed to Academic Level B with a total remuneration package of up to $150,759 comprising base salary within the range of $110,992 to $128,854 plus 17% superannuation.
