The Interventional Bronchoscopy Fellowship is a 12-month, full-time training program for a junior respiratory physician or final year advanced trainee interested in interventional bronchology.
This prestigious program has trained numerous interventional bronchoscopists from Australia and overseas; many have gone on to establish complex bronchoscopy services.
The fellow will perform and assist with a high volume of complex interventions, including rigid bronchoscopy, airways stenting, recanalization, cryobiopsy, navigational bronchoscopy, linear and radial EBUS, and lung volume reduction/valves.
Key responsibilities include possessing excellent skills in basic bronchoscopy and being highly motivated, hard-working, and efficient.
- Perform and assist with a range of complex interventions
- Develop expertise in bronchoscopic techniques
- Contribute to the development of a complex bronchoscopy service
Participating in this fellowship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in interventional bronchology and develop a comprehensive understanding of its applications.
Fellows will be exposed to a variety of clinical cases and procedures, allowing them to hone their skills and become proficient in the field.
In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in research projects and workshops related to interventional bronchoscopy.
