About the Role
Fremantle Ports is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join its team as a Technical Authority and Asset Management Specialist. Reporting to the Civil Engineering Manager, this role will act as the delegated technical authority and own the Specifications and Technical Guidelines for the Civil/Structural discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and advice to support the design and asset management function of new and existing assets for the Inner and Outer Harbours.
- Ensure all assessments, designs, and changes comply with statutory requirements, national standards, industry codes of practice, and applicable legislation.
- Deliver a program of continuous improvement and the development of fit-for-purpose technical guidelines and specifications.
- Provide approval as delegated technical authority to civil/structural asset risk assessments.
- Support the technical review of Development Applications and commercial agreements for Fremantle Ports' assets.
- Collaborate with the Senior Maritime Engineer to deliver adequate and appropriate advice and information to support the Westport Taskforce.
- Contribute to the development of the yearly maintenance program for all civil and structural assets and liaise with the Asset Strategy branch regarding prioritization of maintenance projects.
Requirements
- Extensive Civil/Structural Engineering experience, minimum 15 years.
- Chartered Engineer, or eligible for Chartered Engineer registration.
- Experience in leading the development of fit-for-purpose solutions in a complex brownfields operational environment.
- Experience in the leadership of design, construction, and maintenance of civil/structural assets.
- Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements, regulation, and national standards associated with ports, maritime infrastructure, and dangerous goods.
- Experience in significant asset renewal programs in a port environment (highly desirable).
