Job Description

At SGS, we are seeking a highly skilled Building Inspection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that structures, buildings, and construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough inspections of structures, buildings, and construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
  • Participate in resolving non-conformities and conduct final site inspections to ensure acceptance.
  • Develop and provide inputs for Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Perform inspections to ensure conformity to specifications and communicate results via work inspection request (WIR) and material inspection request (MIR) processes.
  • Verify and validate the structural soundness of buildings, structures, and construction projects.
  • Assess the structural quality of buildings and structures ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and contract specifications.
  • Review blueprints and building plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Inspect building structure, plumbing, electrical, sewage, and heating/cooling systems for safety and specification compliance.
  • Measure dimensions to verify alignment, elevation, and leveling of buildings and structures.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance to specifications.
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience as an inspector for construction projects in case of engineering degree holder and 12+ years in case of diploma holder.
  • Engineering degree or Diploma in Building Inspection, Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in ASTM, IBC, and Glass Reinforced Concrete Association (GRCA). Knowledge on ACI, AAMA, ANSI, and BSI.
