The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering and Delivery to lead our Australian teams.

This role involves mentoring engineering managers, championing agile practices, and collaborating closely with senior leaders to enhance performance, deliver high-quality solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.

The Director will play a key role in shaping the software engineering strategy, fostering team development, and working with customers to understand their needs and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor engineering and delivery managers across Australia, build and nurture a high-performing, collaborative team culture, drive continuous improvement in software engineering practices and align them with business goals, ensure the engineering teams are adequately resourced and supported to meet customer needs.
  • Performance Management: Measure and analyze team performance (throughput, quality, utilization, profitability), implement improvements based on performance metrics to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability, maintain transparency in engineering performance and report on key metrics, including financials, build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders to understand their needs and foster innovation, work closely with customer success and project teams to deliver world-class software and services.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and profitability, foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team, support the development of best practices for software delivery, security, and automation.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and safety in the workplace, take responsibility for maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on excellence and growth.
