Health and Safety Expert Job

GHD seeks an experienced Health, Safety and Environment professional to provide HSE advice and strategies.

  • HSE Consultancy Services: Deliver exceptional quality and value for money services to clients
  • Assist in the delivery of Regional HSE Management Systems and initiatives
  • Identify legal requirements, monitor and communicate legislative changes and evaluate compliance within Region
  • Monitor HSE performance, analyse trends and make recommendations to HSE management
  • Undertake HSE project reviews
  • Support HSE lead on major projects including provision of HSE tasks where assigned
  • Conduct site HSE inspections and audits
  • Implement Inspection and Monitoring Schedule
  • Implement Occupational Health Monitoring requirements
  • Investigate incidents in consultation with HSE Manager, monitoring effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Participate in Health and Safety (AS/NZ 4801 / HSEAS 18001) and Environmental (ISO 14001) certification process
  • Implement and monitor Environmental Stewardship Initiatives
  • Develop risk management strategies to meet local and client requirements
  • Provide HSE information for proposals

Requirements:

  • Formal Health and Safety qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role, including site safety and consultancy experience
  • Experience delivering HSE consultancy services to clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of behavioural safety programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level of computer skills
  • High level of organisational skills
  • Passion for continual improvement of Project Health and Safety performance
  • Ability to lead and motivate on site project teams in Health and Safety
