About the Role:

ALS Limited is seeking a Casual Laboratory Technician to join our team based in Maitland, NSW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collection of production and CHPP samples at client sites
  • Performing a range of preparation and analytical tests including Ash, Moisture, Total Sulfur, Calorific Value, Sizing Analysis etc.
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions
  • Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances
  • Optimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of results is achieved and maintained
  • Ensuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followed
  • Ensuring a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areas
  • Assisting in the operation of the Pilot Scale CHPP
  • Bulk sample lay down, pickup and weighing back of samples

Requirements:

  • A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
  • Numeracy and literacy skills relevant to the position
  • Sound time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to learn on the job
  • Good Organisation and Communication Skills
  • Reliable and Trustworthy
  • Valid Drivers' License
  • Forklift licence would be highly regarded
  • Previous industry experience would be an advantage

Selection Process:

As part of the selection process, a pre-employment &/or Order 43 medical exam is required; including a drug and alcohol assessment.
