About the Role

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Construction Equipment Leading Hand for our brand new, state-of-the-art Forrestdale site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and Organisation: Plan and organise the Perth Construction Equipment Build operations to meet customer requirements, working closely with the Supervisor and Co-ordinator to achieve department budgets and allotted KPI's.
  • Supervision: Supervise the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used most effectively.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders pertaining to customers, machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty.
  • WHS Compliance: Ensure HCA employees and contractors comply with all WHS responsibilities and maintain a safety-first culture within the department.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Relevant diesel or mobile plant mechanic trade qualifications.
  • Experience: Similar supervisory experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to get the team to work cohesively.
  • Safety Focus: Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Experience in the maintenance of mining & construction equipment (Hitachi exposure would be a distinct advantage).
  • Time Management: Excellent time management with the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Initiative: The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement, and drive change.
