Nurse Unit Manager

Our organization is seeking a dedicated and experienced healthcare professional to lead our Birth Suite and Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the leadership and management of the department/unit, ensuring patient safety, quality of care and experience, operational efficiency and contributing to the strategic objectives of the health service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor standards of service and practice against benchmark targets, including nurse sensitive indicators, incident management system data, clinical indicator results and patient, doctor and caregiver satisfaction results.
  • Support and participate in the accreditation process and regulatory assessments, as well as group-wide and divisional Quality and Clinical Risk Management programs.
  • Foster a culture of interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure that patients and consumers are actively involved in relevant planning and decision-making processes.
  • Work in a clinical capacity within the department as required, to support caregivers, medical officers and to ensure the delivery of safe, person-centred care.

The ideal candidate will hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, and demonstrate advanced relevant clinical skills. Management and leadership experience in a senior nursing position in an acute hospital facility will be essential to this position.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary: $140,940 per annum (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation.
  • Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits.
