About You :

  • You must be a registered nurse with appropriate tertiary qualifications and registration. Must be registered with AHPRA and provide evidence.
  • Avoid any relevant State/Territory Health Department.)
  • Must have current driver's licence and car.

Job Summary :

This role involves administering vaccines and conducting immunisation clinics for workplaces around Brisbane. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of communicable diseases, occupational immunisation programs, and immunisation practices.

Key Requirements :

  • Ideal applicant will have at least one year's nursing experience, preferably in a community-based setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in vaccine administration to adults (vaccine administration to babies, infants and adolescents advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Excellent knowledge of communicable diseases (influenza), occupational immunisation programs, and immunisation practices in workplace and school settings.
  • The ability to manage post-vaccination emergencies with limited assistance.
  • Strong knowledge of immunisation procedures and practices.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to gain cooperation and assistance from clients.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities to achieve objectives within given timeframes.
  • Good administrative skills with the ability to operate various computer programs.
  • Experience in similar roles as practice nurse or community-based nursing. Background or training in emergency nursing or occupational health nursing beneficial.
  • Competence in the use of relevant equipment and software desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of current legislation, practice standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities :

  • Administer vaccines according to VaxWorks Health Services protocols and state requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of vaccinations on the company's system.
  • Ensure adequate supplies of vaccines and consumables for clinics.
  • Store and handle vaccines according to guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Manage clinic operations efficiently and safely.
  • Report incidents promptly.

Customer Service :

  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences through prompt and pleasant interactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with clients and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Develop individual skills and knowledge to better serve customers.

Clinical Expertise :

  • Perform clinical duties within required competency level.
  • Explain procedures and ensure patient consent.
  • Promote immunisation benefits and safety.
  • Manage immunisation emergencies effectively.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Manage stock rotation and ordering.
