About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our VIC Operations team at Qantas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff and operations to ensure freight flows through our network without incident.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings to ensure staff are aware of their responsibilities and any changes to operations
  • Coordinate staff to ensure the delivery and collection of local freight, ensuring timely and efficient service to our customers
  • Plan and organize the loading and unloading of linehaul trucks, ensuring safe and efficient operations
  • Liaise with customers on daily booking requests and ad-hoc queries, providing exceptional customer service
  • Lead a safety culture, including the management of fatigue, to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
Requirements
  • Operational experience in a similar industry, such as aviation, transport, rail, or mining
  • A valid HC and Forklift licence, or in the process of obtaining
  • A good and safe driving record with a minimum 2 years' experience with driving
  • Demonstrated commitment to managing a safe workplace, with a focus on fatigue management
  • Experience leading a shift, with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • High level of personal presentation and behavior, with a strong work ethic
  • Commitment to teamwork, with an innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating shift roster, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Safety as your number one priority, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Ability to meet the requirements for an ASIC security clearance, pre-employment medical assessment, and drug and alcohol test
