Principal Road Designer Lead

The principal road designer lead will spearhead geometric design production for roads, highways and related civil projects in our organization. This position reports to a senior lead within the transportation business.

This role combines project leadership with championing digital engineering frameworks. The successful candidate will network with peers to promote productivity and best practices.

  • Spearhead geometric design production on assigned projects
  • Provide client-facing support and develop solutions with the engineering team
  • Review design output of road designers within project teams
  • Contribute to design production using OpenRoads technology
  • Troubleshoot designs and foster a learning culture for team upskilling
  • Guide junior designers and remote staff in OpenRoads application and design standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Geometric Design Production: Spearheading design production for roads, highways, and related civil projects.
  • Client-Facing Support: Providing support and developing solutions for clients.
  • Design Review: Reviewing design output from road designers within project teams.
  • Design Production: Contributing to design production using OpenRoads technology.
  • Design Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting designs and fostering a learning culture for team upskilling.
  • Junior Designer Guidance: Guiding junior designers and remote staff in OpenRoads application and design standards.
