We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical engineering discipline on medium to large-sized projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and directing electrical engineering activities, ensuring high-quality work plans and successful implementation of electrical components.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and direct electrical engineering activities on medium to large-sized projects.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of electrical engineering personnel, estimating staffing needs and scheduling work accordingly.
- Provide technical input to meet procurement requirements.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of electrical discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Review and make recommendations on electrical engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards.
- Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of electrical engineering aspects of the work.
- Ensure assigned electrical engineering personnel receive on-the-job training for professional development.
- Assist in the preparation and review of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
- Review and approve key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders.
- A recognized degree in electrical engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- 10-13 years of relevant experience in FEED, proposal, and detailed engineering, preferably in an EPC/EPCM industry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, oil and gas plants.
- Demonstrated experience in the Australian Mining and Metals industry.
- Experience in design, procurement, construction, commissioning, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, or process plants is desirable.
- Knowledge of systems engineering, calculations, applications, construction methods, and materials.
- Good working knowledge of industry and regulatory standards such as MSHA, OSHA, ISO, DIN, etc.
- Capability to develop procedures and design criteria/guides and demonstrated knowledge of computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools to perform calculations.
- Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team of engineers and designers within a multi-discipline major project.
