Audit and Compliance Expert

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our team in Melbourne.

This role requires a strong understanding of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulatory environment in Australia or comparable jurisdictions, with demonstrated experience in managing and conducting a wide range of activities associated with application and compliance related to AML and responding to AUSTRAC surveillance activities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 7 years of internal audit, AML and/or risk management experience, managing the delivery of AML services and solutions in a professional services environment or in a senior position in respect to AML compliance and assurance within a financial services organisation.
  • Tertiary level qualification or equivalent. AML certification would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring team members to continually develop the team's skills and experience.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders and communicate complex issues and solutions to a broad range of stakeholders.

This is a leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge, business acumen, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of a range of services that focus on the risks associated with reporting entities' compliance with the AML legislation, including risk assessments, gap analysis, and independent reviews.

Key responsibilities include designing and conducting in-depth business process reviews of AML systems and controls, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will also oversee the continuous enhancement of audit, assurance, and risk management programs to ensure they reflect the latest changes in AML regulations.
