**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Technician to join our team as a Heavy Vehicle Specialist. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our transportation services.
**Responsibilities:**
- Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks, to prevent breakdowns and maintain vehicle reliability.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues or malfunctions, ensuring timely interventions and minimizing downtime.
- Use technical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems, often under pressure and with limited resources.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections, providing valuable insights for future improvements.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:*
- 5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in heavy vehicle maintenance.
- Certification III in Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Fitter, demonstrating expertise and commitment to your craft.
- Experience working with Volve and Mack trucks, with a deep understanding of their systems and components.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of diesel engine systems, allowing you to interpret technical manuals and schematics with ease.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle complex issues and find creative solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
- MC driver licence, an advantage in this role, but not essential.
