Public Relations Communications Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced communications professional to drive media relations efforts, content creation and campaign delivery for our organization.

This role requires a natural communicator who is proactive, organized and confident in juggling competing priorities.

  • In this position, you will support the development of earned media and communications programs, uncover and shape compelling stories from across the organization to share with diverse audiences, assist in delivering proactive media campaigns and contribute to the planning and execution of communications projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and adapting content for press releases, website copy, social media and other platforms, developing engaging day-to-day social media content, liaising with internal project teams to gather information and source imagery.
  • Providing strategic counsel on social media trends and best practices, monitoring media and cultural trends and bringing fresh ideas into the mix.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in PR and communications, preferably in agencies or architecture and design.
  • A deep understanding of the media landscape, crafting, pitching and managing story development with journalists.
  • Strong relationships with news, business, lifestyle, architecture, design and cultural sector media outlets.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, adapting content across media, digital and internal platforms.
  • Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
