We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Financial Capability Specialist to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our Community Support Service network, you will play a vital role in providing financial capability services to eligible individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Financial Literacy Education: Develop and deliver financial literacy education workshops, focusing on building long-term capability and skills for individuals to plan for their financial future.
- Community Support: Assist community members to access other support services and establish community supports, respecting and valuing each person's individual needs.
- Record Keeping and Quality Improvement: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and data for all community members, adhering to The Salvation Army's standards and procedures, and continuously improve services through community feedback and individual input.
- Financial Literacy Education Skill Set: Possess a financial literacy education skill set or be willing to obtain one.
- Cultural Competence: Have knowledge of local Aboriginal communities, culture, and connection to mob.
- Experience Working with Vulnerable Populations: Demonstrate the ability to work with people experiencing difficulties and crisis.
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identity: Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
- Professional Qualifications and Certifications: Hold relevant qualifications and certifications, such as a national police record check and relevant state Working With Children Check.
