We are seeking a Teaching and Research Position in Media Studies at Creative Matters. As a senior academic, you will be expected to contribute to teaching and research in the discipline of media production across various platforms. You will teach into undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs and be responsible for maintaining and advancing scholarship, research and industry relationships in the field.
This role involves working collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics in the School of Media and Communication, undertaking associated duties such as academic advising and student selection. You will be responsible for coordinating courses, potentially supervising postgraduate candidates, and contributing to the development of the program.
You will have opportunities to work with a range of stakeholders, including industry partners and government agencies, to advance knowledge and practice in media studies. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in media production, including experience with audio-visual software. A research specialisation in one of the following areas: public or strategic communication, digital storytelling, media law and ethics, environmental/science communication, media activism, or Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, or community/regional media would be highly valued.
