About the Role
We are seeking an experienced cook to join our kitchen team in a dynamic aged care facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals that meet the dietary and cultural needs of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook meals in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Food Presentation: Present meals in an attractive and appealing manner.
- Inventory Management: Manage stock levels and order supplies as required.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the head chef and food services team to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of all food services.
Requirements:
- Experience: Experience in bulk cooking, preferably in an aged care or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and experience in working to food safety standards to HACCP level.
- Time Management and Communication: Strong time management and communication skills.
- Resident-Centered Care: Understanding of residents' rights, person-centered care, and dignity of risk.
- Certifications: Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
