About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Worker for our Journey to Social Inclusion program in a Part-time capacity. This position is based out of Barwon. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Grade profile SCHADS Award level 3.

Below are the key requirements for this role:

  • A lived or living experience of resettling in a home after experiencing homelessness.
  • A strong commitment to social justice, human rights, and client-centered practice.
  • Ability to facilitate active engagement with people experiencing vulnerabilities and history of complexities in areas such as homelessness, alcohol and other drugs, mental health, disability, and family violence.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Willingness to participate in training and professional development.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of services.
  • Understanding and application of the principles of confidentiality and privacy.
  • IT and administration skills.
  • Strong alignment to the Values of The Salvation Army.
  • A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
  • A current and valid Working with Children's Check.
  • A valid Victorian Driver's license.
