The Role

This position involves managing the planning, coordination, and delivery of exercise support to military training. As a Military Operations Planner, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and sequencing exercise events, incidents, and injects using digital exercise planning software.
  • Creating supporting documentation using exercise planning software and defence systems.
  • Providing instruction and training on planning and execution of exercises, activities, and systems that support them.
  • Supporting defence personnel with the delivery of exercises/activities as required.
  • Ensuring documentation is stored appropriately on defence systems.
  • Offering advice and support for the development of activity/exercise planning requirements and methodologies.
  • Conducting designated activity/exercise micro-planning and other related tasks as directed by defence staff.
  • Attending planning and coordination conferences.
  • Being prepared to assume exercise/activity site manager duties.

Your Background

  • You should have 7 years of military experience, including leadership roles in military training and exercises.
  • You should have a detailed understanding of littoral, amphibious, battle group, and brigade operations.
  • You should be skilled in using Microsoft Office suite applications.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a team and manage a team to ensure high performance. They will also be flexible to travel when required, as this role may involve periods of travel and extended hours.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 per annum
