Waste Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Waste Management Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As the key point of contact for waste disposal activities, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and operational schedules.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to deliver efficient and timely services. You will be responsible for planning and managing waste services, conducting audits and inspections, and driving continuous improvement in waste processes and service quality.

About the Role
  • Job Summary: Plan and manage waste disposal activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and operational schedules.
  • Main Responsibilities:
    • Plan and manage reactive and scheduled waste services in line with contracts and environmental guidelines.
    • Coordinate readiness for waste services prior to site openings or events.
    • Collaborate with management to align waste services with project timelines.
    • Conduct post-event audits and inspections to resolve waste-related issues.
    • Track and analyse waste data to improve processes and ensure KPI compliance.
    • Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.
    • Drive continuous improvement in waste processes and service quality.
  • Requirements:
    • Tertiary qualification in Business, Administration, or a related technical stream.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in waste management.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong focus on safety and compliance.
    • Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Experience in facility and contractor management will be highly regarded.
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail within a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience in minor project planning, administration, and coordination.
    • Full Australian working rights and clear recent police check.
