Youth Program Coordinator

The role of the Youth Worker is to provide supervision and support to young people subject to a youth justice intervention.
Key Responsibilities:- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with human rights and supports departmental programs aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Provide supervision and support to young people in accordance with legislative provisions, strategic priorities, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Support program coordination in relation to maintenance of services for young people subject to youth justice interventions.
- Assist with compliance with court orders and reintegration into the community in accordance with case plans.
- Negotiate access to services on behalf of young people to enhance their access to services in accordance with case plans.
- Maintain records and reports to assist case planning and reviews, and attend these meetings as required.
This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups including young people, families, communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be committed to ensuring the delivery of quality services and outcomes for young people.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Cultural capability and understanding of Indigenous cultures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High level of empathy and understanding when working with young people.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
