**Job Summary:**We are seeking a Boating Education Officer to join our team in the Greater Sydney Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for educating the boating community on safe boating practices and legislation.**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Conduct presentations and information sessions to educate the boating community on safe boating practices and legislation;
  • Represent Transport for NSW at key boating locations and engage with students in schools around boating education;
  • Identify opportunities to educate the boating community and support the development and implementation of Boating Safety Education plans in consultation with other relevant branches in the Division;
  • Facilitate and conduct presentations and information sessions aimed at educating the boating community, assist with compliance campaigns and management of aquatic activities, audits and incident management to support on-water and other staff.
**Requirements:**
  • Degree in a relevant field such as education, maritime or environmental science;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Knowledge of safe boating practices and legislation;
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role.
**Working Conditions:**

The successful candidate will be required to routinely work on weekends and public holidays, as well as during the peak boating season. You will cover the Port Hacking and Botany Bay areas, and may be required to assist on water during emergencies or special events.
